Displacement Digester System(DDS)

Established in 2004, Chemical and Pulping Ltd. “CPL” started with upgrading an RDH mill to DDS after which it was proven that DDS was the most advanced cooking system in the world. Since then, DDS has come a long way and the latest offering is DDS-VI (6th generation) as in the beginning of 2023. In a span of less than 20 years, CPL has sold 30 DDS projects with per day capacity ranging from 200 BD MT to 1200 BD MT. Mills are cooking various type of woods, bamboo, and veneer in DDS. Over a period, DDS has been gradually updated. The steam consumption in DDS-VI is merely 0.6 to 0.7 MT per BD MT of the discharged pulp which is probably the lowest as per the industry standard.

JK Papers Ltd., Unit CPM at Songadh (Gujarat) started DDS plant in 2021 with 4 x 200 M3 digesters. Satia Paper Mill in Muktsar (Punjab) is the 2nd DDS mill in India with 6 x 130 M3 digesters. All the DDS plants are tailor made as per mill’s need and nothing comes out of a box. DDS can design a DDS plant with the digesters volume starting from ~ 120 M3 to ~ 450 M3

Injectors & Spargers

CPL’s proprietary Steam Sparger is one of the most compact designs for direct steaming in any process. One can easily assume the efficiency the sparger when it raises the digester temperature by 10⁰ C in about 15 minutes.

We believe that every mixing application is unique, and we provide custom engineering solutions for each need. It is normal that the consistency of the pulp discharged by displacement digesters varies from the beginning of the process till the end of discharge, and the mean average is high. The downstream is not capable of handling consistency swing. So, this application demands a heavy duty and perfectly engineered agitator. With our special agitators, we guarantee an even consistency throughout the discharge tank volume. Operators in the fibre line will never complain to the digester house of consistency variation.
